Create a "Content Manager" similar to Taxonomy Manger

Hey Great work on taxonomy manager! I had an idea pop in my head while using it. Could this module be repurposed to edit content instead of taxonomy? What if we had the side by side view and you could edit a piece of contents fields on the right and select your content on the left. Sounds pretty nifty right? I wouldn't mind trying to make it work but would probably need some info on what hooks and objects to change to look at nodes and content types instead of taxonomy.

If this feature exists in an existing module please let me know :)
