With an external dev release Status should be Needs work.

Suggest to persuade maintainer to publish the dev release.

I just tested this sandbox leaflet_mapbox module with the following:

Drupal core 8.7.8
Leaflet 8.x-1.22

I can confirm that it appears to work well for me, entiering the credentials on the config page at /admin/config/services/leaflet-mapbox using API version 4, I can then display my custom mapbox tiles through the leaflet views module.

Setting status back to NW as we have a dev release. Next step would be an alpha/beta release (NR). (see contrib_tracker#statuses)
