maintenance if being done or the trottle has kicked in because of the amount of users on d.o.

My vote is on the throttle as it seems search comes and goes and as it is one of the most resource intensive features it would make sense that it is on throttle.

I can't see it either. Its true, search is indeed an intensive feature. I recently switched from drupal's search to google's cse, my host couldn't take the beating!

It has been down before so it's probably the throttle function.

They could try with 1 search/60 sec/user or something like that before disabling it.

Is there a way to search drupal.org remotely since search is not working here now? It's hard to find answers
without search.
