I implemented a patch that extends the module in 2 ways:
1) There is a global refresh value (accessible at admin/config/user-interface/refresh
) that can be used to force refresh all nodes. If set to zero, no global refresh will be applied.
2) There is also the option to autorefresh non-node pages (excluding the admin pages).
I attach a patch.

mo6Thanks. I see that the global switch "Enable for non-node pages also" doesn't work correctly for nodes. I'll review the patch.

We can have a list of those non-node path so that we may also have specific non-node path if we don't want all non-node to auto refresh
