I created an issue fork, merged the code from laxman.ghavte's sandbox, and made some minor updates. I haven't done much testing on it, but basic functionality is working for me on 9.4.8.

I'm not really sure where to go from here, but I do like this module and I plan on continuing to using it. I'm willing to contribute, and possibly be a maintainer, although I've never done that before so I'd need some guidance. I think the original project needs a new 9.x branch before I can make a pull request.
