Manually deleting the admin_menu module via FTP returned the site to normal functioning.

Same happens here. WSOD after drush dl > en on Drupal 8.0.1
Log:

  • Warning: include_once(/var/www/html/*/modules/contrib/admin_menu/admin_menu.module): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Drupal\Core\Extension\Extension->load()
  • Warning: include_once(): Failed opening '/var/www/html/*/modules/contrib/admin_menu/admin_menu.module' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in Drupal\Core\Extension\Extension->load()

This module has been deprecated for Drupal 8.
For Drupal 8: the Admin Toolbar provides an experience similar to admin_menu with the core toolbar.
