Why this module instead of https://www.drupal.org/project/defaultcontent, which has a D8 release now?

Maybe a feature comparison is appropriate?

We had permission to push from github.com/larowlan/default_content (where development started) to drupal.org/project/defaultcontent (thanks to the module maintainer). But that would've required a rename.
We discussed it, and decided to create a new module.
