Problem/Motivation

Noticed in #2570937: FieldPluginBase::trimText() does not always trim when combined with an ellipsis

If FieldPluginBase::trimText() has the values of max length 10 and with the word boundary setting set to True... and it trims a value like 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch' to '' which does not seem a good idea.

I tried to play with the regex to make it better but could not. Note that mb_ereg has $matches[1] = FALSE and preg_match<code> has <code>$matches[1] ='' - just for fun :)
