I need a Calendar module desperately and quickly. Is there an alternative to Calendar and Full Calendar that is functioning?

It appears to me that the Calendar module is not functioning at all. I get the error: 'calendar_plugin_style: The calendar row plugin is required when using the calendar style, but it is missing.' when I only ENABLE the module. I haven't done anything yet. I see that many people report the same thing. If we need to avoid the module, what is the alternative? I tried Full Calendar, but it also doesn't work. I followed the instructions carefully, but when I save the date field in the View, the screen disappears and becomes full of code.

I would really appreciate anyone's help. Please email me at email3@pbzproductions.com.

I've read the issue in the queue and its evident that there is an oddity occurring that isn't easily reproduced. My experience is that both calendar and full calendar work perfectly well. I've not had the issue you or others are having. I've used them on many sites and they are utilized on thousands of other sites.

My first inclination is that there is already a calendar view either enabled or disabled in your views ui?
Can the issue be reproduced on a clean installation of Core?

No calendar view is enabled or disabled in the Views UI. However, I was intrigued by your idea of testing on a clean install. This is regarding the error message with Calendar. I did not get the error message with the clean install. So it seems like there is already something on the existing site that is making Calendar berp.

I am still pretty stuck because I am under deadline and can't get this working easily. I will probably have to create the function in a table in a WYSIWIG editor to get something up.

I see, though, that many many people are getting the same error message with Calendar, and there was no solution shown, only people reporting the problem.

I just tried disenabling every possible module I didn't need, then enabling Calendar, and the error message showed up. As far as I can tell, the module is unusable.

I didn't think the disabling of other modules would work, but I was trying to simplify the site as much as I could. The error message did NOT show up on the clean install.

I never got to the point of setting up a calendar view before seeing the message. It showed up when the module was enabled.

I emailed an intensely Drupalized person, who said he has used the Calendar module many times, and seen the error message many times. Based on what he said, I turned the error message off, and started making the calendar. It seems to be working. However, I still don't know what the error message was about, and feel funny about turning off error messages.
