Hi,
i've tested the module and I really like the speed of the search functions!
I've searched online some documentation about using elasticsearch_connection with indices not created in drupal. My data are stored on a server and I've created some indices with the web plugin (serverIP:9200/_plugin/head/) connected to these data.
Using the component Elasticsearch Connector View I can load this data in a view (great!) but I cannot use the search API autocomplete function because I cannot declare an existing index in the Search API form so I cannot connect the view with the function.
Is it possible to do it?
Do I need to enable some other module or create a new module that recall the remote indices?
Thank you in advance!
MC

skek commentedHi @calello,
Thank you for your support request.
At this point this implementation is not available but it seems like a pretty nice feature for the views module.
I will consider this to be developed as soon as I can and will let you know.
In meanwhile if you have any other suggestions/patches/proposals, fill free to share them with us.

mahtoranjeet commentedHI,
This module is really very useful , using the Elastic search connector views , I can load external data very nicely but I can not find any way to show the facets from this way.
Are there any way to show the facets.?

mparker17@calello, currently, Elasticsearch Connector does not officially support searching indexes that were not created by Drupal. However, there are efforts to add support for that in #3540361: Add Search API datasource plugin for externally-created indexes (8.0.x).
@mahtoranjeet, the currently-supported versions of Elasiticsearch Connector (8.x-7.x, 8.0.x, 9.0.x) work nicely with the 3.0.x release series of the Facets module, but I will admit that it took me a while to get used to how the Facets module gets you to add facets: please refer to the Facets 3 documentation for more information.

I apologize for the time it has taken for us to get back to everyone in this issue.
Unfortunately, the elasticsearch_connector-7.x-1.x release series is no longer maintained (and, at time-of-writing, only 46 sites report using it). Also, this support request hasn't been updated in ~11 years. And, Drupal 7 core is no longer supported.
So I'm going to close this issue and assign credit. If you have further questions about supported versions of this module, please create new support requests!
Thank you for your understanding and patience as I try to make the issue queue for this module more maintainable!
