Problem with unavailable files

Hi,

When you link to non-existing files (e.g. files to be created by image cache), there is no session created after logging in with the guest account or a real account.
The images that should be generated appear broken. If you check the url seperately you get the secure site screen with login prompt. Once you log in, you can see the picture, but upon reload, you are prompted again for your credentials.

Any idea how this could happen? It's the first time I bump into this, even though I'm using securesite already a long time.
