When I get the message "Media Root created successfully" after installation no folder is created within the file-system.
After setting a "media-root"-folder via the admin-UI (admin/config/media/media_browser_plus_settings) the folder is created within the "files"-folder and also within the "private"-files folder.

But then I have the "root" and a "media-root"-folder in the "RELATIONS Parent terms"-field.

Media Root created successfully is related to the folder term created not a file system folder.
By default MBP won't create a physical root folder in files.
But you can enable such behaviour by configuring the root folder here: admin/config/media/media_browser_plus_settings
See "Advanced settings" and define the root folder there.
