Is Node Adoption Orphaned?

It seems like ideaoforder, the contributor and maintainer of Node Adoption, hasn't posted anything since March, and his contact form isn't enabled. He has updated his two other modules (Web Links and Node Teaser) for 5.x, but their issues queues don't get a lot of attention either, and he hasn't replied to my query about updating Node Adoption.

I don't know what the proper procedure is, and if ideaoforder cares about Node Adoption, I don't want to take it away from him, but if his interests have turned elsewhere, I'd like to pick it up and update it for 5.x and onwards. This would be my first module, and it looks like an ideal project for getting started.
