I have installed drupal 7 and started building my first site (on drupal).
I needed to install a WYSIWYG editor and went thru all the necessary steps to do so,
for some reason, I cannot get drupal to acknowledge that I have installed any of these edtors (so far I've tried JWYSIWYG, Tinymce and CKeditor.
all of these folders are in the correct spots according to installation instructions (sites/all/libraries), But NONE of
them are getting picked up by drupal. When I go into configure/wysiwyg profiles I am told that nothing is installed. it lists them all, but
they are "blued" out and non-functional.

any ideas on this one are greatly appreciated.

I am running drupal 7 on a Mac OS 10.6.6

I have CKeditor running perfectly on my Drupal 7 install.

Did you enable CKeditor? ...remembering that you have to download the Drupal module /sites/all/modules and the 3rd party app /sites/all/libraries

when I go to "configure/WYSIWYG" drupal tells me that none of the editors I have installed are installed!?

I install these editors in "sites/all/libraries" but they don't show up in drupal when I go to configure them.

what exactly do you mean when YOU say enable?

and is there a difference between modules and libraries? (I actually had to create my own "libraries" folder as it wasn't there when I went to install)

the rest of drupal is working fine for me (I installed with MAMP), everything but the text editors.

could you give me a simple breakdown of the install you are describing?

thankyouverymuch

Installed drupal 7, then WYSIWYG module, activated the module under MODULES but after that I do not find any place to choose which of the different WYSIWYG interfaces I have in my 'libraries' folder.

any ideas? where can I configure the WYSIWYG Module?

Thanks
Cheers

You have to enable the WYSIWYG module, then save the configuration (at the bottom of the modules admin page), and then a 'configure' link will appear to the right of the WYSIWYG module. Click on the configure link, and then you should be able to choose an editor for one of the input formats - e.g. Filtered HTML.

I have the same problem.

I'm very new to Drupal.

WYSIWYG IS enabled and the configuration IS saved.
When I click the WYSIWYG 'configure' option the resulting screen says "There are no editor libraries installed currently"
I have downloaded and unpacked the 'TinyMCE' text editor and copied the directory to sites/all/libraries/ but the editor is never seen by the WYSIWYG configuration screen.

This is so frustrating as nearly all forum & help topics discuss buttons missing etc. but none explain what might be causing the text editors to be invisible to the WYSIWYG configurator.

Please can someone help?
