creating a single node in multiple steps

I am trying to do a multi-step form where adding taxonomy terms are broken up into steps. so an example would be:

1) add term from vocab 1
save (goes to node edit to be able to select a different term) or finish (shows full node)
2) add term from vocab 2
save (goes to node edit to be able to select a different term) or finish (shows full node)
etc.
etc.

I swore that there was a multipage form that did this exact thing but it seems to have gone missing. Is there any other module that can do this? My end goal is to allow a user to add a single term from a single vocabulary then go to the next vocabulary to add another term, so the node ends up getting multiple terms added but controlled by "steps".
