There is now a D7 handbook page on AJAX, http://drupal.org/node/752056. The AJAX examples section should have an @see for that.
The D6 examples should have pointers to relevant handbook stuff, and maybe randyfay.com/ahah

Somehow I'd like to get the most synergy we can between handbook pages and the examples, everywhere. So examples should point at handbook, and vice versa. But we can probably do even better than that.
