i tried to call the function below from a theme it returns random quote id and not the quote?

return quotes_get_quote();

Is there any chance of getting the response to this? I am trying to do the exact same thing, without luck. I get the number, though. ;-)

After digging further into drupal's messages, I finally came across this helpful post!

Displaying Block Information inside a Page

I just had to tinker with it for a bit, and now I get a random quote on my sign on page without having to use the block! (NOTE that the block is created, but disabled.)
