slashrsm commentedIt is planned, but I do not have any time to do that. Simplenews is still in unstable state.
Any patches are welcome, though.
vantuykom commentedIt would be great, I am not a developer sadly enough...
slashrsm commentedMarking this as "Need work". Will work on this, when I have some more time. Any volunteers welcome also.
Quarantine commentedSubscribing.
shaisamuel commentedVery important. I would be happy to help, but I dont yet have development skills.
slashrsm commentedMaybe a great place to start. It's not so complicated module. :)
shaisamuel commented@slashrsm, I would be happy to. I'v email you 2 days ago, with some questions and my phone, to try ands learn where to look next.
slashrsm commentedSorry. I did not recieve your email. Can you re-send?
shaisamuel commentedWould you be able to call me tomorrow @ 858-208-7822 CA time?
hagit commentedI will be happy to help
Comment #11
metroecho commentedCan sequenced emails be sent with through rules ?
I would be interested in helping if I can, I don't code well and it would be great to learn more.
slashrsm commentedThis module currently does not implement any rules integration. I do not know how much Simplenews does and how could this be used for your use case.
Any help is more than welcome :)
dgtlmoon commentedCheck out http://drupal.org/project/simplenews_scheduler , we've got a healthy D7 development team going on and should be getting to our first release soon
Comment #14
slashrsm commentedSimplenews scheduler and this are different modules. AFAIK scheduler does not cover usage of this module.
dgtlmoon commentedhow?
slashrsm commentedSimplenews scheduler is used to schedule sending of a newsletter issue.
Sequenced newsletter is used to create a sequence of letters, that will be sent to subscribers in a certain order. It is not necessary that different users will get the same issue at the same time. One example of a use case would be ecommerce site that welcomes new users at registration and gives them coupon that is valid for one week. After 3 days user would be reminded about the coupon and after one week once again.
dgtlmoon commentedAah ok, so it sends a customised email?
slashrsm commentedPoint here is not customization. You have to do manually. Point is in correct sequence.
metroecho commentedWorks well, I think this is a great module. Too bad I could not find it in D7. I think that it's very useful, maybe people don't quite get it, but the ability to send a packet of information over time is the best way to teach or introduce something.
Thanks for the D6 version.

bernman commentedI've taken a pass at porting this module to Drupal 7. The attached (not a patch file) seems to be working as designed but I've not done any thorough testing with multiple sequences and newsletters defined. The admin screens are now under admin/config/services/simplenews/sequenced_newsletter.
bernman commentedAttaching changes referenced in #22 as a patch file.
bernman commentedAdditional code cleanup and loop optimization. Also includes a fix for issue #1488266 sort by create in a way that doesn't break existing database records.
slashrsm commentedIt was committed. Thanks!
