Should newsletters with additional required fields show up on /user/*/mailchimp?

I've got 3 lists configured, two w/o any required fields other than email address. One with FNAME required. All three appear on the user's profile tab. The list with the required FNAME field can be selected, but does not save b/c FNAME isn't mapped to a merge variable.

Should this list appear in this case? I get a message stating that why I can't save the newsletter list, but for an end-user, this probably doesn't make any sense. And it's not something that the end-user can "fix" in submitting a subscription request.
