I can not figure out at all what to do to get rid of this error when i go to http://localhost/drupal-5.7/install.php

The full error i get is :
Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required './includes/install.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /homepages/1/d217213227/htdocs/drupal-5.7/install.php on line 4

I'm a newbie to drupal and Student .We were given an assignment to create a module but I'm getting this error
"Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required './includes/bootstrap.inc' (include_path='.:/home/student12/php/lib/php') in /home/student12/apache/htdocs/index.php on line 12"
What could be the problem?I'm using Drupal 5.23
