This might be useful for Drupal. Creative Commons now has the CC-GNU GPL, a "Human-Readable Commons Deed" for the GNU GPL, as well as the rdf for the GPL in the Creative Commons metadata format. The advantage of the CC deed is that it's much clearer than the lawyer version (the text of the GPL on the Free Software Foundation website). I've noticed quite a few discussions about the GNU GPL on drupal.org where there is typically some confusion. Perhaps references to the GNU GPL on drupal.org--such as on the General Info page--should link to the CC-GNU GPL deed. Also, couldn't the CC-GNU GPL metadata be added to Drupal documentation pages, if in fact the intention is for them to be GPL'd as well? (not sure if this is the case)

I think Drupal.org (like so many other Drupal sites out there are already doing) needs to ensure that Drupal content uses a Creative Commons license for the site esp. the handbook etc.

I think Drupal.org has an opporuntity to lead by example.
