Companion release for Version Control API 5.x-1.0-beta1, incorporating updates for one or two API changes in the main module.

Companion release for Version Control API 5.x-1.0-beta1, adapting to a few changes in the API module. Also, get_{branched,tagged}_items() works now instead of choking at an incorrect SQL query.

Seems that I didn't release a stable snapshot for some time, so let's have one.
Commit notification mails are now implemented, and as this was the last major feature for getting on par with cvs.module, we're now arriving in the 1.0 beta series.
