CCK -- how to I add submitted by information?! It's not just a simple option?

I just installed the cvs version of cck. (dated June 13th, 2006). The 4.7 version has the same date and time.

I am surprised that there seems to have no option to have the usual "submitted by" information.

I tried turning on userreference, but that simply meant I could associate the node with any user on the site, not just myself.

I tried adding the "author/maintainer" field that comes prepackaged. That me a blank field that I can add anything to (any word, not just a username) It also returned errors.

Offline dev documentation

Hi,

I'm going off-line for a couple of weeks and was hoping to be able to do some module development - but I can't seem to find any version of the development documentation usable on a standalone machine (windows xp).

Does such a thing exist?

Comment form in node instead of separate URL

Just curious, is it possible to place comments and the comment form in the same page as the content node instead of on a separate comment/reply URL?

I saw a site that uses drupal that have the ability to do so: http://performancing.com.

Moreover, I am concerned about having two copies (duplicate content) of the same page for every node. That sounds like counter intuitive, not to mention about usability issue.

smilies and names in chatbox

hi all,

i am using the chatbox cvs and it works. however when there are people into the chatbox there names don't show up in the list on tjhe right. So i can't see who are in the chat at that moment.

Also i use the smilies module. i copied al the smilies in the good directory and i can configure them in the options. When i wan't to show them up in the chatbox they aren't working :(

How does this come or is this a know problem?

thx,

Paulus

an smtp email module?

Like others I've noticed, I've been frustrated by site generated emails quietly failing, while Contact and Registration mails work just fine. I've looked at all the Drupal smtp recipes I could find, but didn't much care for them. So I've been building an experimental module using a couple of classes written by one Manuel Lemos
SMTP E-mail sending class and MIME E-mail message sending

audio module: 'getid3.php not found' message; and adsense module: long error message

NOTE: I know I should probably divide these two questions in two posts -- just hoping someone out there can answer both in one ;)

I installed the playlist.module, the audio.module and the getid3 module, as described in the INSTALL.txt on my site. (i.e. I added the getid3 module in the audio module file, so that the path is main/modules/audio/getid3/getid3/, as instructed.)

However, when I go to 'settings --> audio' I get this message:

The getid3.php file could not be found in this directory.

And this box is also error-highlighted in red:

getID3 path:
modules/audio/getid3/getid3/

I even added just the getid3.php file in the 'audio' file, along with the entire 'getid3' directory, and I still get this error message. What am I doing wrong?
