possible to subdivide content?

I'd really iike to have finer control of the string "$content" in the node forms for display. Ideally i could have $content1, $content2 etc somehow, which would be a bit easier for template display. is this possible in drupal?

Drupal.org current forum layout

Hello all,

I am currently working with PHPTemplate and a Leaf-modified theme. The forums area, however, is horrible. I want to switch it over to include all of the functionality you see here on this site, but can not find links to the proper modules. Can anyone help?

(Sorry, I'm still suffering from newbie-itis!)

Dreamweaver AND Drupal

Ok.

I am going out on a limb here, and entering the realm of theme development.

I am using a development machine: Windows XP, PHP5, Mysql5. Drupal 4.7b5

I use dreamweaver fro static webdesign, so I am wanting to use it for my theme designing as well.

Now that you know all that

I have followed http://drupal.org/node/18151

I have connected my database to dreamweaver.

when I go to test my index.php page I get a parse error.

Specific Issue:

The taxonomy is all bunched up at the top and you can't tell which yes belongs to which question. As you can see it's a usability nightmare. Instead of saying:

Block not in sidebar

I want to have a block that doesn't take up an entire column. For example in the forum, below the bottom of the block I would like posts to take up the full row width. Is there a way to do this?
