Theme development

I'm also using spreadfirefox at a site i'm develpoing with drupal:
http://adventistyouth.org.uk/beta/forum/1 . This is the beta site and
using drupal 4.7 rc1 .

However the same theme works ok on the production site:
http://adventistyouth.org.uk/forum/1 running on 4.7 beta4.
Any help at all will be greatly apreaciated. I've been at it a couple
of weeks. I still think it may be in the css.

ARGHH! I have read the README.txt and have done what they suggested, but I still continue to get this humongous white space on the theme. The big problem is that users get the space when they carry out a search and fail to scroll to them bottom of the page to see their search result. and I dont blame them!

can anyone give me a tip or help me figure out how to remove the white space for this specific problem.

First, my apologies if this question seems inane or naive.

I'm new to Drupal and want to know how using different themes based on a category can be achieved.

So, if I used Drupal for a site about Dogs, I would use different breeds for categories. Each breed would use a different CSS...

I've searched endlessly and can't find the answer. I'm really just looking for a bit of insight as opposed to a full, detailed answer.

I'm creating a port of Grass Stains based on the phpmytemplate version of bluemarine, and I've hit a problem - the links have a nasty | to the left of them. I'd used this earlier in the 4.6 version of bluemarine, when all the links were added in one text box because thats how I seperated them. Any idea on how to get rid of them? Heres a screenshot:

Is there a way for me to print the random quotes generated from quotes.module inside of a pre-made page inside Drupal? I am a novice, and do not see any obvious solutions. :(

I looked all the thems for drupal to find most capable for my needs and the "friendselectric" looks the best but have very much bugs in it.

Text in main window is jumping when you point over menu
Overlaps often
splits in narow colomn with no reason and more...

but it looks nice and this bugs dont stop me to use it.
i see the problem is in css styles, if anibody knows how to fix it send me an message we'll discuss the details and reward.
