Theme development

I really love this theme, and with 5.0 around the corner please whoever developed it please if you can make sure that it's ready and suitable to use with drupal 5.0.

Currently it is categorised under version 4.7.0. It also says that it requires the phptemplate engine.

I am a total newbie so I like this theme because it's simple and doesn’t distract my newbie mind.

I read recently that these are two different things. Is this correct? Some questions then:

1. Does this mean that a pure php theme may not support all the features of the phptemplate engine?
2. Do all phptemplate themes need to have a template.php file?
3. If I find that a php theme (like ocadia) doesn't support many features, is the solution as simple as creating a template.php file for that theme?

Hey, I have been working on a site, and after some tinkering and searching on google found some code that would allow me to have a custom index page, the code is strait from the lulabot web site, but for some strange reason it won't let you login or view other nodes instead it just comes up with a blank page. Any Thoughts....

I'm trying to convert various titles into valid CSS classes. This would be useful in numerous theming contexts, such as styling individual blocks with nice, readable class names, giving menu items automatic class names etc etc

I'm stuck trying to figure out the right way to handle and theme the book navigation links.

The problem is that pages with long titles wrap in odd ways and can make the page hard to read.

I solved the problem (the wrong way) by modifying theme_book_navigation in book.module. I now have a simple table with up to three cells. Each of the links built for navigation of the book has an enclosing
