Theme development

I want to have custom language menu & custom navigation menu style. both differ from their style. how & where I should change the things to have custom navigation languages & main navigation.

I am newer to drupal, Please guide me in detail.

Hi all, hope someone can help with this or let me know if its even possible.

I'm developing a community site and one of the things I need to add is an event calendar.
I've created a new content type 'comm_event' which includes cck fields such as start date, location, adult_entry_fee, child_entry_fee and so on. What I'd like to do now is handle the output of the nodes based on that node type, so that I can add some intelligence to the output (i.e. display different field headings based on if its free, children go free etc).

Hi, I'm using a sign-up form. I'd like the fieldset containing the form to be expanded on page load.

I can't find anything on this subject using Google which doesn't inspire confidence that its even possible.

I'm using Drupal 4.7, and I'm new to it!

I have a book about it, and there I have read that when i want to add a custom look to some page Drupal looks for theme page like this:

If the url is: http://mysite.com/?q=node/4

The Drupal will look for pages in this order:

page-node-4.tpl.php
page-node.tpl.php
page.tpl.php
