www.lastdaysjournal.com - world's first blogging/social-networking site for survivors of the zombie apocalypse

so i posted this once before - looooooong before the site was actually complete, but now it is complete: lastdaysjournal.com, the world's first blogging/social-networking site for survivors of the zombie apocalypse.

a little about lastdaysjournal: first of all, i definitely didn't know what the hell i was doing when i put this together. i am most definitely NOT a web developer, but drupal was so easy to install and start using that it made the initial site possible. but there were some pages that i wanted to attach to the drupal part and use the database that drupal was populating to organize the users into a kind of geographical format to supplement the default reverse chronology that drupal automatically sets up.

i spent about 6 weeks in beta trying to figure out how to do that - taking php/mysql online lessons on lynda.com before i gave up and just got a friend of a friend (bob wold of ethitech llc in pheonix, az - *plug-plug*) to whip up some php that did now populates the 'recent users', 'random media', 'biggest contributors', etc. lists on the static map style pages. bob whipped that stuff together in barely more than a single night, but the real work-horse here is drupal. allowing users to create a profile, start and run their own blogs, upload images, upload sound clips, etc. etc.

***Looking For Ideas and Feedback and Members From Around the World***

Started this website sometime this summer, July I think. I never got anywhere with content that made any kind of sense. Months later I tried Joomla. Hated it. Two days ago I installed Drupal. I have a start that makes sense. I am not a coder, I am not a designer, I am a true novice AND I am new to open source and Linux (I have to say I love them both!). Look what was created by a novice in 2 days =)

Drupal Türkçe Destek Merkezi

DrupalTurkey'den herkese merhaba ! İYS'ler her daim baş tacımızdır, fakat Drupal'ın yeri ayrı bizde.

Rich Or Bitch: Social Voting With An Attitude

Take a look at my site! http://www.RichOrBitch.com I will launch this soon. It's a social voting site for internet marketing and online biz articles/news items. I was willing to shell out $$$ to develop this site when I learned that this CMS can do the same things. Thank you Drupal + contributors!

Recently found Drupal

I have to say that I had nearly given up on finding what I was looking for in a CMS, till a friend recommended Drupal to me. I have been running the site as an information security news aggregator for a while now, but I found mambo, joomla, and pligg to be far too frustrating.

I am primarily using the leech feed module to pull in the news sources, and I'm in the process of writing some custom event collectors I have running on about 80 web sites, so you can see in real time what kinds of attacks are happening, and where they are coming from.
