Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Granularity of Access Control - Instance level possible?

I understand that I can set up Roles, assign Users to Roles, and enable different levels of access by Node Type for each Role.

However, is it possible to control access at the Node Instance level? e.g. Can I have a:

  • role = EventViewers
  • role = SocialViewers
  • node, say a book node (with subnodes) = Events
  • node (with subnodes) = Socials

Now can I set up permissions so that only SocialViewers can see Socials (and subnodes), and only EventViewers can view Events (and subnodes).

Navigation block disappeared

I had created a navigation block that was working fine until I changed it's name. Now it still shows up in the menu configuration and in the block list, but it doesn't show up on the screen. I've trying turning "navigation" on and off, enabling and disabling the block, even creating a new block menu which doesn't show up either. How can I recover?

User error: Can't open file: 'drp_accesslog.MYI'

Recently I started getting this error on my site:

user error: Can't open file: 'drp_accesslog.MYI'. (errno: 145)

query: INSERT INTO drp_accesslog (url, hostname, uid, timestamp) values('', '217.116.148.130', 0, 1080929304) in /pub/home/xxx/
lingvoman/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 90.

Any ideas what it might mean and how to get it right?

Taxonomy-linked related content blocks

I would like to have some blocks that detect some taxonomy elements of the displayed node, and display appropriate related content. More by the same author, for instance, latest posts. Not just links to lists of same, though I guess that's an OK fallback. But specifically a list of links to 5-10 articles that a browser of the current node would likely be interested in.

There are several taxonomy-related modules which might do this sort of thing, but I haven't been able to figure out which, if any, do.

how can i get details about conected users?

My site show around 30 users conencted (not logged in). How can I get info on where they connect from? Would RSS users show as "connected" or only when they refersh? etc.

Thanks,
Uri
