Post installation

I've found some posts here to help users get back to the login page.
Someone says:

Hi guys does any one know if there a modules that can display as a list of links, really what i'm looking for is something that allows you to define a category and easy add link to this category

So I woke up this morning to see that my the front page of my website just doesn't have the old content it used to last night. I have not done anything to the site, configuration wise, nor does watchdog show any suspicious activity in my logs. However, when I log into my account, the front page displays the content it used to by default (last night) without logging in.

Which module i have to use, if i want to write articles (posts) on my site with so nice syntax colored php code, as you do here at drupal.org?
I've tried the codefilter module but the only output i get is:

Because i want to write about php on my site this feature is essential for me.
Any suggestions?

I am running a new install of drupal and I have installed the image module. When I try to add a picture everything goes fine but the pictures does not show.

if i hide my navigation from the site...how do i reach it...

as i found out that if the login for th euser is kept hidden...u can reach it www.example.com/user....

if anyone knows...please pass it along...id love to know...
