I've got a flexinode-intensive 4.5.1 site and I'm having trouble finding details on exactly _how_ to upgrade to the newer versions. The XML-RPC upgrade says for just 4.5.4 to 4.5.5, but not how to go directly to 4.5.5 from 1. I'm kindof a linux n00b, so a lot of this LAMP stuff is hard to figure - this is, of course, just a hobby site, but the host won't let it go live again until it's patched.
Is there a good step-by-step guide anywhere? I can't find anything but rather dated stuff - and the forums just return too many hits with too much signal-to-noise.
I'm sure this should be completely obvious, but for some reason I'm just not finding it. How are the different navigational pages on drupal.org created, for example the handbooks and contribute pages linked from the global menu. I've found plenty of example sites that are using what looks like a similar implementation with links to http://myhost/
