Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Unable to display images in the blogs with image and img_assist module

Hi,
Even after enabling image and img_assist modules. I can't see the preview of images when I try to put images in my blog. However, my server is enabled with GD toolkit and also imagemagic. I tried changing a number of settings like full html and all but in vain. When I upload an image with image assist module, I am able to add the picture but however I can't see the preview of the picture. It just appears like a thin blue line. Please help. It's been ages since I have been stuck with the problem.

Thanks.

Ashish.

Design Question

"Long time listener, first time caller . . . "

Below I am including a VERY minimalistic idea for what I would like to create. If someone could 'recommend the modules' I would appreciate it.
This is for a personal site.
I do not like the "generic blog" look and would like a more image-intensive sight, image maps . . . blah blah blah

Below is the GENERAL layout of the firt page where the image comprises a LOT of the white space and below the image are 4 . . . "nodes" ??
the nodes would lead to the respective pages with similar menu layout with the larger background image from the main page.
menu placement is standard (blocks??)

Each node section has 10-12 words from the latest contributions/posts

blurb

News is essentially my rants without user comment. Comments may be added by users in the RESP (Response) node with reference to the 'Admin' post. I think this gives users a feeling of power that their comments are priority. Others may contribute to user editorial

Reviews are for books, movies, et al.

There is a module to output a list of file in an ftp directory?

Hi all!
I have an ftp dir full of pdf, There is some module that scan this dir and output the contenent with link to each element to download?

Or is better to do this with mysql (but I can't put all the pdf in a row, I have no enough space in mysql) I would use mysql only for storage of the link.

There is something already done or I must write myself a php script to do this and embed this into a node?

Thanks in advance!!!
Bye,
Filippo

No projects show up

I installed the project modules (first the 4.6 version and later the cvs version both had the same effect), I created a vocabulary to associate with projects and created a project but I can't get it to show up on the overview page. I also tried setting the release directory to 'downloads' then placing a file (of format PROJECTNAME-1.0.tar.gz) in $webroot/directory but scan for releases or the overview page doesn't show them.

How to email a node?

Hi

How to email a node? I know email a page module, but it's unmaintined. One thing lacking.
I tried the module it's not supporting the url alias. the receipnent will be getting the node no. instead of the url alias
EX; http:// www.example.com/node/20 but i want http://www.example.com/articles/something
how do i do?

What the heck did I do?

My site is all messed up in IE suddenly. Specifically, the links in the Nav Block are spreading outside of the block now and pushing all the main content way down the screen. Everything looks great in Firefox. Unfortunately, most of my audience uses IE. Take a peek and see if you can tell me what the heck I did. http://www.tsd.k12.pa.us
