Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

PNG images do not display (blog.png, xml.png) etc.

I did every little thing the forums suggested up to and including changing file permissions. For some reason, the blog-it pictures (blog.png) just say "blog it" and do not show the pictures/images. I looked it up by doing view-source when I was logged in and the paths are correct and going to the misc/blog.png file, but for some reason, the little pics won't display! I have been scouring the internet to find out what the problem is. I am able to display png's on my server (which is not mine, it is at my webhost) and also I am able to display other png images at other websites in all of my browsers. I need someone to see if they can see the little png's or not so I created a test login because you cannot see them unless you log in. The png's are all on top of the news aggregator stories. Here is where to login: http://www.kneewall.com/news/ and the username is "test" and the password is "testpng" .

Let me know if you see the little png's because I cannot figure out for the life of me what the problem is! I tried changing my file upload permissions to private, use clean url's etc., but nothing seems to work! Has this happened to anybody else? I do not run a server on my home computer, I just have a webhost and they offer Drupal to use for cms, so I am just trying it out.

Let me know if you see the png's and also how to fix it please.

I wish this forum had a more advanced search feature. I could not find what I was looking for at all, but I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.

Somewhere To Start

I have had a site running for a few days now and have found Drupal to be a great CMS but difficult to get started. Could someone give me a few pointers by way of modules to try or tell me something can't be done? I am spending quite a bit of time searching for posts that may or may not help out.

Here is what I am trying to do:
1. I would like to set up a family page, and a page for each family member.
2. Each family member would have thier own static page referenced by a primary link. My kids want a blog and a forum and I would like those to be referenced from thier page. If someone goes to my daughters page, they should have a link to her blog, her forum, or any pages she has posted. New posts to her blog should show up on her page, not the front page which will be for the family entries. This is true of every page on the site. Each family member should have thier own space
3. I would like to set up a static downloads page that is also referenced in a block.

The problem I have is that the module definitions tell me what they do, but being a new drupal user, they don't give me enough detail to know when to use them. I end up downloading every module and then getting lost trying to figure out how they all work before moving forward. Is this possible using one web site and the correct modules, or do I need to create several sites, all linking to the others via primary links? I am not sure how many sites I can host on my provider, but I doubt my fees cover 6 free sites.

Native RSS facility in Drupal... how much is there?

Hello all,

I'm working configuring my Drupal install. I gather from previous posts in the support forums that Drupal automatically generates an RSS feed for the front page here

http://www.mydrupalsite.com/node/feed

My question is, what else does Drupal automatically generate feeds for, and how do I access them?

Cheers!

register choosing own password

Is it possible to remove verify emails. I want to remove this whole email verifying thing because my server tends to send very Slow emails. So instead I just want the users to registered and choose their own password without any email verification.

Organic Groups best practices?

Okay, the feature I want is to offer a sort of user/group/club homepage. I've considered many things, like books, blog, just creating user owned pages for them to edit, and now I think I've finally settled on Organic Groups. I've learned how to theme the group page, and organize that content to how I'd like a usable homepage etc.
