Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Bloggy

hey kids,

love the drupal. over here in the states, we thought the belgians could only make waffles!!!

i kid.

anyway, starting out with a new site:

http://www.downwiththeman.org (feel free to download the movie if you're so inclined)

took a while to figure out drupal, but I really really like the CMS platform now. finally got
a look I'm happy with and everything is good, EXCEPT I don't really care for the look and feel of the "blog" pages:

How do I get those envelopes on the side of my forum?

Its the ones that show different images for, new, pop, locked, etc. posts. Mine just says New in tiny red print, which in my opinion is boring & hard to notice.

Thanks in advanced :)

Changing url?

I installed Drupal under 1 URL: anm.myfxh.com/artlangs . However, now I've got a domain that I have pointed to it and so on. . .where can I change the URL that drupal uses (it was one of the options in the install script). I looked under settings, which is where I'd expect to find it, but couldn't. . .search and help didn't help either.

two vocabularies select forms side by side

I am using two vocabularies for contents on my site. One is "type of article" ( story, expression, experience...etc) and other is the "subject" (society, politics, ...etc). In Drupal 4.7 the selection lists for these two are rendered one below the other (after the title and before the body), and that does not look good.

Is there any way I can change the code so as to place these two select lists side by side on an article editing form?

Smilies Not Working

Its installed (its also in MySQL like it should be), shows up under my Admin, but it doesn't change : + ) into a smilie in my Forum.

Do I need something else installed that I missed?
Maybe I have something installed thats stopping it from working?

Thanks in advanced guys :)

Sidebar question

I am aware that its possible to place two sidebars on the same side in a drupal xtemplate theme. However, I'm not sure exactly how to do that. Is there anyone on here that might know how?
