Post installation

I'd like to have a drop down box (not really a dropping menu) that pulls terms from a specific vocabulary. This drop down box needs to be displayed on all pages, within one fixed position.

It's essentially going to be right above all the content, in the middle of the page.

Can i accomplish this with FlexiNodes?

Im running Drupal 4.6, modified FriendsElectric theme (PHPTemplate driven).

I'm not that good with PHP code, so any snippets you can recommend are very much appreciated.

sorry if this is a Faq, but, there is a way to let the user define (at least partially) the path for the file he is uploading?
I mean, when I upload a file with upload module (public mode), it always goes in \files, while I would like to be able to specify a subdirectory, like:

\files\newsletter
\files\images
\files\documentation

I played a bit with Filemanager and Filestore2 but without luck: they use subdirectories, but seemed to me that subdirectories' names are out of user control.

The site i'm working on has generic stories, some of these stories will be 'top stories' - in which case i want them to be not a story node, but a specific flexinode so it renders in a different way. Is there anyway to change this on the fly?

For some reason, I can't aggregate any RSS feeds from Feedburner. (Not Atom feeds, but RSS).

Here's an example of one feed that doesn't work, even though it looks like normal RSS XML.

I am a novice at web design, but am learning quickly. I am trying to create a professional webpage, and want to add graphics to static pages. I have tried using several themes, but the graphics don't show.
I used the < img source = / tag and have checked and triple checked the path. I get the "broken link" box.

Also, I downloaded the adc theme because I really like the transparent .png. I thought I would be able to tweak it to show a different .png...but so far my tweaking has done nothing.

Need some recomendations for the correct server changes for filestore 2. I requested to my shared hosting provider that in php.ini file be increased to 8M. They replied they did. However I could not upload a 4M file.

I downloaded the files and database(s) of the site to a fresh copy of xampp and the uploads work fine. The filestore module indicates max. system upload at 16M (xampp's default settings). I made no new changes to any settings in Drupal. So I feel that all is good on my end.

I queried the hoster if all php.ini had been upgraded, apache and php. The next ticket reply was that the changes had been made. Still cannot upload the 4M file.

I do not have the experiance to direct them to all of the server settings they should be changing. I have looked around in xampp and learned a few things, but basically after hours of searching the forums, the issue seems to be the server and at this point I am going in circles. What am I and the hoster missing?
