Hello all, I'm new to Drupal and still trying to understand how its various components interact... I am working on a simple plain php theme and hope someone can help me out with this question. I've searched and searched drupaldocs and the wider web but can't quite get the info i need...

I would like to add code to my .theme file that generates different html depending on the type and/or ID of the current node. How can I refer to the current node type (or even just the current node id) in the .theme file?

i was wondering if there is a way that by what i can generate a thumbnail for the video i m playing on my website so that when users view it they can click on the thumbnail and the video will start playing
