This one may get more complex than feasible ... but
The site I'm taking over is mostly used for posting files and stories on a single top-level page. My goal is to provide a more topical section (a'la "Products").
Is there a method (I'm assuming it would be
PHP code but would prefer something else) for me to include all stories / files that fall under a certain category?
Is this even tracked by drupal? If it is, is it possible to add post(or comment count depending on how you look at it) next to a members name when they post comments?
I'm very new to Drupal and am taking over an already configured and populated site (old admin is not available to me).
How can I create static content on the main page. Like the top block on http://drupal.org/ that contains an image, a welcome message, and a menu all in a different layout than the rest of the page or the block below this saying "Drupal 4.6.5 / 4.5.7 released"?
I'd like to add some content to the top level of my page that won't get bumped by new items as they are added.
I'm having the same problem as the guy who made the post about The Daily Show Online. I have a blank space that basically goes all the way down my middle content of my page, and the input content type of stuff does not show up until after the end of my left side content. Clear as mud?
