Post installation

Hello! I am interested in removing the script that checks that the person in the "Authored by" field of the submit story page is a registered user. I would like to be able to publish some stories on my site that are by authors that are not registered on my site. Thanks for the assistance.

Is there a module that I can use as a download section for a site? I am currently using the forums as a repository for the files I serve to the users, but I would like more felxibility than what the forums provide when it comes to attached files.

I am trying to post a list of useful links unde a Resource heading under the login box. I downloaded Article and Weblink modules based on forum discussions. Now I am looking at them as a dumbass as I do not know how to use them. Can anybody help this poor excuse for a human being?

I am getting the warning

gmdate(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970

When the index page is viewed. I am using drupal 4.6.6 with civicrm 1.4, although this problem began when I had 4.6.5 and 1.3. It began after entering a birthdate in 1961 with the profile module.

I have read lots of gmdate warning posts and must be missing the solution. Many of them reference the event module and earlier versions of drupal.

I am getting "last CRON run did not complete" on 4.7 RC2 after moving to Textdrive.

I have tried turning off the aggregator and ping modules to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should look at.

I have 4.7 RC1 running with Subscriptions module installed (subscriptions.module,v 1.38 2006/04/01 03:04:42). It seems to be working in all respects except for actually sending out emails to notify about updates to changes in content for threads a user is subscribed to. Cron is running. MySQL is version 4.1.18.

The watchdog doesn't indicate any errors or attempts to send mail. Email works fine for new user and contact purposes.

Is this a bug or have I missed a step?
