Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

"search" isn't indexing my site

Hi-

I tried-out the search function on my new Drupal 4.7 install.

I put a word that I knew was in my content: "services", and clicked search.

A page rendered, with "Your search yielded no results".

So,...

I went to administration >> settings >> search. In the "Indexing status" area it said 0% of the site has been indexed. There are 14 items left to index. I click the "re-index site" button; a warning prompt renders, and I click the "re-index site" button, but the page comes back telling me that 0% of my site has been indexed.

Another problem with watchdog

I have this problem:

Modules Suggestions?

I'm new to Drupal, but first impression is "very powerful and flexible CMS". I'm playing with it already for 2 weeks, but still have difficulties with getting actually what I need out of it.

I have a friend whom I would like to set up a simple business web site which he could update on his own - no confusions the set up should be "For Dummies". These are the main functions he needs:
1. Create and edit pages.
2. Create and edit blog posts.
3. Create and edit menu items on specified by admin menu(s).

I limited access for him and created menu that contains only My Workspace (workspace module) and Logout. That does the content part trick (first 2 items in my list). But I have a problem with the menu. I don't want to give access to the whole Menu administration only to the menu(s) I created for him. I would like him to be able to add/delete/edit items for that particular menu. The purpose of it - let's say he has Top Menu block and Side Navigation block - if he has access only to those menus - he has complete control of his content and menus and can't screw anything up. Very simple CMS solution for regular business person who is not a web master.

Seams like a pretty simple goal, but I feel like I'm stuck.

So far I've been trying to work with Categories and SiteMenu module - categories are quite confusing even for me but together it seams like they can give him control at least to one menu block which would reflect the items he can create on the node creation page.

Impossible to login on my sites with IE

Hi there,

I'm having these strange new adresses like this when I try to login in IE:

http://www.notreactualite.com/?time=1161009929

I just can't login on the site, even after two or three tryouts.

What the hell is that "time" thing, I don,t have that on a older 4.7 site??

Only newly installed sites seem to have that info, is it related to caching? How can I just turn that off and be able to login afain with IE?

DO you have any other idea why we can't login with IE?

Manage bilingual taxonomy

Hi,

I have a bilingual website english/french and I use i18n module to translate node content and taxonomy terms. I'm not sure I really understand how to use i18n with taxonomy, because when I create a content (default french) I can choose the taxonomy terms. Bun in the english translation, I dont see the categories, is it automatically manage with the french term associate?

Also, in the advanced search, I see french AND english terms. I would like to see only french terms when I am in french and english terms when I am in english. Is it possible?

Thanks
