Post installation

So, after a year or so break in using Drupal I'm at it again, developing an online store. I'm using CCK for the first time; it seems pretty amazing and far beyond the available alternatives even 12 months ago. Though, I'm having some issues though getting ecommerce to play nice with it: The option to enable any node type as a product is missing, from CCK node types and all other node types. I'm using the development builds of both CCK and ecommerce, and Drupal 4.7.4. Any ideas?

this website of mine, http://digifreedom.net, uses the Drupal Chameleon theme.
The only thing I don't like about it is that even the sidebar is printed, whereas I'd like to have printed only the actual content of a page. What do I have to change to make this happen? Do I need to change the css file (how?) or what?

I know there already exist posts on the site trying to explain the new version control system but for some very odd reason I have not been able to figure out how they relate to the way updates to codes are being done right now
To put it in simple terms I shall take the example of logintoboggan module

and similarly the development release as

however now if I go to View CVS messages on that page , I see that there have been done cvs commits to the module on 27th December 06. These commits can only be accessed if I go to Browse the CVS repositorysection of the module page

Can someone please clarify what do these commits in cvs repository signify? are they different to development snapshot?

2nd issue....
According to View CVS messages page, no commit was done to the module under the 4.7 branch on December 21, but still the module page mentions the official release date for the stable version as December 21. How?

So I'm trying to set up a Snow Report node on our website, and I'm running into a bit of a problem: flexinode only allows me to add about 60 fields before it hits MySQL's tables-in-a-join limit of 62. After that point, I get this in the logs:

...and the flexinode fails silently (i.e. if I go to "edit", none of the fields are populated with their current values; if I fill them in and hit "Submit", I don't get an error but I also don't get the correct info when loading the page). Is there a workaround with flexinode, another module I should be using, or do I need to write my own module?

I have been building a site and sometime in the last few days my 404 messages stopped working. I don't know what I did to change this. I had not specified anything in the .htaccess or the error handling settings of drupal, but something that looks like the front page view is showing up instead of the 404. It

I've been using Drupal for 2 months now. My website is www.ertugrul.jp which will be the website of an important project in Turkey.
The site is now offline.
My problem is that when I sign in with admin username and password I can see the front page but everytime I want to go to another node (including administer/admin) I get the following error:

"Not Found
The requested URL /node/106 was not found on this server.
