Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

test for other users and other roles

I found out that I can setup the following function in the template.php file of my PHPTemplate-driven template:

I've been using PHP Input Format all along, problem?

I’ve been using PHP for all my posts that included html links, javascripts in those posts.

But I just realized that the PHP Input Format should only be used when necessary AND when actually using php scripts.

So has this caused some problems that I am not aware off?

Because I was told I should have not done that and that I have probably caused problems to drupal and the database in the long run.

So, have I caused some problems by using the PHP Input Format for my posts?

drupal tags

ok...i've played with drupal the last 16 hours and now it's time to get started building an own social-networking-site. but where to start? i remember when i started some experiments with wordpress, there was a tag-listing, sorted and so on like this one:

Author tags
• the_author
Description
The author of a post can be displayed by using this Template Tag. This tag must be used within The Loop.
Usage
the_author();

Is there a module that sends email notification of new moderated posts?

I know there is a module which will send an e-mail when comments are posted, but is there a module which will send the admin an e-mail when a post is made to a moderated node type?

In other words, I have an event (flexinode) node type that is moderated by default. When an anonymous user creates a post of this type, I'd like to receive an e-mail notification of that so I can quickly decide if it should be published or not.

Is there something that will do this? Thanks.

users logged out repeatedly when clicking on a link with out www in the url

two problems, but they are related.

problem number 1 - for some reason, in different browser sessions and sometimes in the same one. the www will be dropped from the url in links. an example would be sometime the link to the about page will be http://www.mysite.com/about and other times http://mysite.com/about

I've seen this behavior in IE7, FF2 and Netscape 8

how do i make it so that the WWW is always present in any link?
