Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

is it possible of different layout for different contents

I'm going to build a AV (audio-video) site which talk about AV software, hardware, sharing tips, AV news.
is it possible of setup different layout for different contents? Let says

page layout without right and left sidebar for "AV hardware testing report" content such that the page has enough space to put large images.

VERY strange login session problems

Hi.

My client ran into this issue when he tried to add node, wich was a CCK node, and he got logged out and redirected to frontpage when he clicked the title field.
Apparenly, this problem only occurs on node/add/* pages such as node/add/page. not on other forms.
This issue initially only happend with all users other then admin, but later on, after lots of login sessions, it started affecting admin user as well. In every instance I tried to fill in a node form, and immediately upon click an input field I got redirected to the frontpage and I was logged out! I have never seen this behaviour before, I didn't even know drupal did something when clicking a random input text field. These fields were just title field, body field, etc.
When I check in watchdog log, it only says Sessions ended for [user] at the time when I get forced out. No errors.

Stuff I've tried to fix it that didn't make any difference:
-clear cache on my browsers
-clear cookies on my browsers-
-clear drupal session table
-clear drupal cache table
-I use print_r($user) to keep checking if I'm still properly logged in
-I used dba module to "repair" all tables. (what does that do anyways?)

-About this Drupal install
-uses clean urls
-is on a server on wich I succesfully run 5 or 6 Drupal sites, without any issues.
-server has php 4 and mysql 4.1+

User-id variable available in content for url

Hi.

I'd like to have a link on my frontpage pointing the user into his/hers notification settings:

http://domain.com/user/2/notify

How can I get a hold on the user-id (2) to create this 'dynamic' url?

Redirect problem

I do have redirect problem. I nedd to redirct urls from something like www.gigogigo.net/come-si-gioca-a-poker-alla-texana/18/ to www.gigogigo.net/come-si-gioca-a-poker-alla-texana

removing dead URL Aliases?

Hi All,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it. Like most I use the Path and PathAuto modules and as time goes on it seems that my URL Aliases table is filling up with aliases that are no longer valid (mainly feed aliases). Is there anyway I can automate the removal of dead URL Aliases from my URL Aliases table? At present what I'm doing is periodically truncating my URL Aliases table and recreating them in PathAuto.
