post-collation trouble with mysql

Like many people (and not only drupal users, i'm noticing!) , I got burned by collation troubles as I moved to Drupal 5.1 and Mysql 5, swedish to utf-8 collations. For the most part, the impact of this is to force me to do a global search and replace for various munged bits.

But one of my databases (not all) is having some serious issues…I can edit a node (it doesn't matter if it is a page or a blog post, if it was created before or after the move), but I received the following after I hit submit on the edited node (this does not apply to new nodes).

Any thoughts???

Illegal mix of collations

I have upgraded a website from when I try to login I'm getting following error.

Is upgrade to 5.0 a very tideous and complex process?

Hi

Please guide me on this issue. I have the feedback that upgrading from 4.7 to 5.0 is very difficult and tideous. Rather its better to create the whole site again on 5.0 and import he data? Is it really true.

Secondly can there be optional upgrades, i.e. I upgrade only a particular module.

As I am no developer but a customer, I do not understand as to how to approach the upgrade issue. Please suggest.

Thanks and Regards

Can't see admin/content/types after upgrade

I've upgraded my drupal 4.7 to 5.1 and it seems that everything is fine but I can't see some pages like admin/content/types or admin/user/access. The theme display ok but I can't see any content but the number 2. I have installed the Event module and when i try to create a new event node i got the same result: 2. Any idea ?
