I was reading the upgrade.txt file as this is my 1st time upgrading my drupal site (currently on 5.5) and this is what it says:
4. Disable contributed modules and switch to a core theme
(Bluemarine or Garland).
I'm using pathauto, so wouldn't this just kill all my links if I go ahead and disable it? It just doesn't make sense to me, so please your advice would be appreciated.
What about for example the views that I have, if i disable the view module, wouldn't the views i have created get deleted?
I installed 5.6 update from 5.5. All went well, and all new files were installed clean. As a final check , I verified the version number under Administer>Logs>Status Report, which showed current Drupal version as Drupal 5.6. However, after running the update.php script, a check of Administer>Logs>Status report now shows Drupal 5.5 as the version number.
I really don't know where the disconnect is. All files are installed by the book. Could it be that MySQL was not updated by the script? If that is so, how can I fix it?
I just uploaded the 5.6 pack and ran the upgrade.php script. It recognizes that I'm running 5.6 but it tells me that its not the recommended version and it tells me to download 5.5 in the available updates page? Any idea how I should fix this?
Sorry to have to ask a rather noobish question, but I've spent hours
looking for a straight forward answer to my question, but have been
unsuccessful..
After updating to version 5.5, I noticed that my taxonomy.module was
not installed. Since there isn't an install file, is there a link to a
resource that would direct me on manually installing this module using
phpmyadmin? Better yet, isn't there a module already created that can
help me with this task? Thanks for your assistance..
I've just tried to update some of my modules after installing status update module.
I logged in as admin (user Id 1) and then put my site offline. Once that was done i uploaded the new modules replacing the older using FTP. Once that was complete i then typed in the URL to run the update.php script. When that has finished, i get an error msg:
In the beginning of 2007 a client came to me asking if I could support his drupal site. Problem was the I only have rudementary knowledge of MySQL and the site was running on POSTgreSQL. So I moved all data from PostGRESQL to MySQL. Since I did that however any new content added to the site is not searchable...
I've looked around in the forums, but being the newbie I am, I might have missed some valuable hint.
Can anyone please point me to the right forum, or help me to sort this out?
