Before you start

Does drupal offer secure logons? You may notice that Yahoo Groups, Hotmail, Gmail, Schwab, and, well, just about every site that has to worry about security on a daily basis, makes sure that you can logon via HTTPS so that your username and password don't get nabbed. There's a lot of people using open WIFI hotspots these days and it's so trivial to steal username/passwords.
But maybe Drupal already offers this option and I don't know about it? It's certainly easy enough to add.

I'm in the process of setting up Drupal for use as a CMS and community system for our university department.

I'm trying to set up a single sign-on system (like the one described in http://lists.drupal.org/archives/drupal-devel/2004-07/msg00737.html) to make it easy to create per-project and per-class Drupal sites.

Am I correct in assuming that the following tables are the ones who need to be in the global/shared database?

I am unable to download the drupal 4.5.0 release, the link seems to be wrong . Can someone post the right link ? I didn't find any forum post about this, very odd.
