PHP as CGI - .php extensions disabled

Our web server is running PHP in CGI mode, but you cannot use the .php extension in the files. So far, I have hand-written scripts that I need for our office site, however I'm in need of a more robust portal. I currently use Drupal in my personal pages and have a year or so experience with it. (http://www.thomhanford.org) I'd LOVE to use it for my office, by cannot due to this limitation. We have MySQL, and we are operating with PHP 5.

Would the functionaily be possible !

HI

I have found Drupal after investigating Mambo/Joomla. I could not find an answer over there

I am looking to develop a website which would have section for Visitors who may want to put their questions to the Teacher/Scholar etc.

There should be a Submit Question page, which should be mailed to the Teacher. And teacher can organise and answer the questions and release those answers on specifc days, daily, weekly etc.

The Questions and Answer should be arranged in different categories.

You may take a look here for an example of what i am taking about

Community features: forums & user profiles

Hello

I've done some searching and gathered some information about how drupal displays info about members.
Though I'm still unclear about what is actually available

Is possible to display a members post count and usergroup next to their comments - so similar to other forums?
Does a module exist for achieving this, or only possible with a hack? Or is one soon to be developed?

I also found flatforum, though is this a working solution?

thanks

trackies.co.uk - is Drupal the one?

I want to start by apologising for asking a question that is difficult if not impossible to answer.
But I really am having a hard time deciding which system to use to rewrite my site.
I have considered just writing my own (lame) PHP to run a new site. But with the huge list of CMS’s available, I feel as though I’d be rediscovering fire somewhat.
The site trackies.co.uk offers a history of Sportswear styles available in the 70's and 80's.
It has not really evolved to use any dynamic content since its first appearance some 10 years ago.
I would really like to develop the site after leaving it this long.
The current site uses frames, is not searchable, no dynamic content and difficult to navigate without hunting.
I’m fairly happy with the way a garment is shown once you’ve selected it, but dynamic content for that item would be nice.
Voting, adding text, matching items etc.

I’ve been jotting down some of the features I would like to develop with Drupal:

1) From a left or right hand side site wide menu:
a) Category choices by brand Puma, Adidas, Nike, EN-S, Generic (maybe up to 10 brands for now).
b) Category choices by style Tracksuit, Hooded Top, T's, Polo's, Tracksters, Outwear (maybe up to 10 styles for now).

2) Items from categories from a site wide menu (1) should be shown with:
a) Colour variant thumbnails linked to reveal the item from multiple photograph angle choices (front, back side,

Is Drupal the best choice

I am looking at progrmming frameworks and found Drupal via an article about its ecommerce functionality. I was looking at these as my two options.

http://ez.no
http://seagull.phpkitchen.com

We are trying to make a decission early next week on what to standardize on. Is Drupal an alternative to the above. If so, is their a benfit of it over the above?

I welcome your feedback and help.

Thanks

Some questions

Hi,

-does drupal allow my to allow each member of my future community to create its own blog (even if I have large user base) ?

-Is the forum used by this main drupal site, included in installation, or is it an extension ?

-Can this system support large community projects with lots of users ?

Thanks in advance,
Brakkar
