hello all -
so i am quite new to web development, and such - i am more aware, and akeen to doing tech support on the server side of things, but im now getting into creating actual webpages... i mention this because for some reason or another, i find it quite challeging to grasp the whole concept of what drupal terms taxonomy... yes, i may very well be 'dense'. so i come to the drupal community to ask - where can i get more information on what drupal terms 'taxonomy'. it seems this is a very resourceful aspect of using drupal [which i really love the project so far!], and there are many advantages to using taxonomy.
i've read the admin guide for drupal, and specifically the part about taxonomy, [many times, just to see if i am missing something] - but for some reason, i just 'don't get it' - i dont understand what the hell taxonomy is, and how drupal incorporates it. =)
so, i tried creating 'taxomony' similar to what is shown in the drupal screen shots in the taxomony section --- i want to create a page like the front page of my drupal install for a cisco ccna site, just gerneral discussion, posting of articles, and such. so, i created the following 'vocabulary';
name: ccna - cisco certification
node types: story
and the following term;
