I've been looking for a web developer to help me convert my webzine into a drupal portal.

I was very excited when I found a list of drupal developers on this site, but a bit disappointed that it was such a short list. (I also looked at rentacoder and scriptlance and found very few Drupal developers.)

The list on Drupal states that "We only list individuals and companies that have contributed to Drupal."

Everytime I try to preview a theme on drupal.org i get error 403 forbidden. Is that just me or is this feature broken? It's happened to me for the last few months now so it isn't like it is just temporarily down.

I just start to use Drupal to build up my school website, however, I met a problem:

I integrate php code into html file, but everytime when I use " mysql_select_db('burcs'); ", the theme is gone, if I uncomment this statement, the theme is back? Does anyone know the reason and the solution? Why we cannot integrate database operation in html in Drupal?

I have used lastest drupal and drupal on my home pc (athlon 2000+, 512 Ram, Apache2, php5, eaccelerator) and drupal worked so slow. I turned on caching and nothing changed. How can I speed up drupal? Is it possible? I have searched on community forums, but no results!
