Hello, all.
I hope I'm not being a pest for this, but I signed up for the forum hoping to find some answers to a question I find quite confounding. If I put this in the wrong section, I apologize. If this is listed elsewhere, I also apologize. I'm quite oblivious as it stands, so bear with me, please.
After all that preamble, I'll get to my point. I am employed at a public library, and I have been asked to prepare a report on content management systems. I am supposed to choose three or four out of the many I have seen at a glance out there, and I don't even know where to start. Well, I know where to start somewhat, I suppose. After all, I signed on to get the assistance of someone who knows what they're talking about!
The intended purpose of the library CMS would be to have a site that is easily updated with news and pictures by several staff members. Once the general layout is in place, it will mostly be a matter of updating and refreshing the content laid out.
The requirements, roughly speaking, are as follows:
____________________________________________________
A WYSIWYG interface of sorts. If there is access to the source code, that's best left alone. This is for the GUI inclined sort of person who doesn't know a lick of code. Me, I know some very basic rudiments of Java, but that won't help anybody any, far as I'm concerned.
Admin controls. Working at a place of business, the hierarchy of control is always an issue. Perhaps some method of approval before publishing would be nice, but not particularly necessary. I suppose this would be based on a tiered system of some sort, but hey, I don't really know what I'm talking about.
