When I first came to Drupal, I had never used a CMS or even heard of the word taxonomy. It was a very frustrating experience trying to wrap my brain around these new tools. I could see the power in theory, but couldn’t truly understand the way to use this structure as a tool. LOL, I was so confused I couldn’t even phrase my questions correctly in sentences, that other people could understand.
But, its been awhile now and I believe, I have a better ground root understanding on the use of taxonomy. But it seems to me that taxonomy as a “core” tool (core being a key thought here) is only partially complete as a core tool.
The bottom structure as a tool is there, but the top end (if you will) is missing. Perhaps I’m wrong or you grin as you see the light go on in my silly cyberhead.
I guess to ask my questions, I have to define how I see this working.
I really didn’t see this clearly until I started using pathauto.mod and sitemap.mod. Very handy tools, for laying out the structure of a website and staying focused on the structure.
Setup: (going to use letters, as I think I’ll need my numbers later)
Voc A
Terms a, b, c
So you have: Aa, Ab, Ac
Voc B
Terms a, c , c
So you have - Ba, Bb, Bc
Ok, now you use pathauto, to “automatically” use the power of Vocab and Terms, so you have something like this.
